MY WHY

FIRST...A LITTLE ABOUT ME

The Reid Family

Hi, I’m Jessy, the mastermind (read: chaos coordinator) behind Home Pride Shirt Shop! I’m a wife, a mom to three (help—two teenagers and an elementary kid), and a proud survivor of the high school “I have no clue what I want to do” phase. I dabbled in Graphic Design, Web Development, and Marketing—all self-taught—because, why not? But, fun fact: I actually went to school to be a Cosmetologist. Clearly, I enjoy keeping things unpredictable.

The REAL Reid Family

Born and raised in Papillion, Nebraska (I was part of the very first sophomore class at Papio South—historical, I know), I then spent five years in Houston before realizing I missed the small-town vibe. So, back to Papio I went. Go Titans!

My life is 90–100% sports and kid activities—wrestling, football, show choir… I basically run on adrenaline and concession stand snacks. I work full-time at the best sports company in the world (shoutout to Soldier Sports), own Home Pride Shirt Shop, help run a youth wrestling program, coach wrestling (and occasionally football—when absolutely necessary), and sit on more sports boards than I can count. Oh, and I was recently elected to a fundraising committee, which means people have officially caught on that I can’t say no.

I’m basically a kid at heart, so spending time with my kids and their friends is my happy place. If you need me, I’ll be at a performance, a concert, game, or a match —probably crying in my seat watching my beautiful daughter perform, yelling at a ref, or passing out gummy bears to a bunch of kids and not caring that they have dinner to eat at home. Sorry Not Sorry...

NOW...MY WHY

Home Pride Shirt Shop wasn’t just an idea—it was born out of passion, community, and a love for the moments that bring us together. As a mom, a coach, and someone deeply involved in youth sports, I’ve spent years on the sidelines, in the stands, and behind the scenes, cheering for not just my own kids, but an entire community of young athletes. I’ve seen firsthand how much pride people take in their teams, their schools, and their hometowns.

Out of the many years my family and I have spent in Youth Sports, for most of them we were broke - like BROKE BROKE.

Radiance Show Choir

There were always these stores with the coolest gear available that the coaches or schools would send out so we could wear our pride and support our kids. Of course, you HAVE to buy something so your kids aren't left out, or worse, so they don't get made fun of because they don't have the school or team t-shirt or hoodie that everyone else has. Typically the link would go out, you would have two weeks to get your orders in then the store closes. I can count numerous times where we just didn't have the money to get them or us anything at that time...not even a t-shirt. I would make homemade versions with puff paint or iron ons and that would simply have to do....and while they may not have been the best looking, it was something in my mind. My kids didn't exactly agree. My heart would break from seeing their disappointment from not getting the "cool stuff" like everyone else got, they just didn't want to say anything to me about it and hurt my feelings.

Papillion South High School Annual Craft Fair

As my kids began to get more involved in sports and activities, I slowly found ways to make my shirts look better and better. I would do craft fairs with my mom to help keep funding my progress. Eventually, people started to notice and would ask me to make them things too. It became my dream to be able to provide families with spirit wear that is affordable, softer and higher quality (not 100% cotton, shrinking, not soft at all items) uniquely designed, and most importantly, is available 24/7 and the store doesn't have an open and close date. I want people to be able to buy their families things that support their businesses, programs, clubs, groups, sports teams...whatever...anytime without the pressure of "Do we have the money this time, or do we have to pass?"

OMAWA DUAL TEAM

I started this business because I believe that what we wear can tell a story—one of dedication, of belonging, of the unbreakable bonds we form through sports, school, and all of the different places we call "home." I wanted to create something that allows people to wear that pride on their sleeves (literally). Whether it’s a parent supporting their child on game day, a student repping their school, a team coming together in unity, or a business who wants to be branded, every design I create is meant to represent the heart behind the hustle.

Titans Girls Wrestling

This isn’t just about shirts. It’s about capturing memories, building community, and celebrating the moments that make us who we are. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the game—it’s about the people who show up, cheer loud, and never stop believing.
